AMERICA'S LAST PATROL

In a small town pretty much off the radar, the mostly forgotten, hardscrabble town of Benavides, Tx., sometimes referred to as, "The Fajitas Strip,” is a sign any town in the U.S.A. would love to have in their front yard. Bonny Palacios, six time world champion baton twirler. WOW!  The fellow at the towns only gas station said, "Our town is famous for two things, Bonnie...and no one can remember what the other is.

In the middle of south central Texas, on Farm to Market road 359, outside of Benavides, TX. where cows, cactus and barbed wire are more commonplace than stop signs and Starbucks , you’ll find, alongside of the road in a remote field, this memorial to the fallen and forgotten. “America’s Last Patrol.”

A group of war veterans pooled personal resources to erect this monument to those killed in action and POW’s never accounted for.. Each veterans day a ceremony is presented to honor those that have died to protect. So it goes.
