A TOWN ON THE MOVE

We pulled off the road to walk around, taste the dirt and smell the air after an hour or so south of Ozona.  Always on the lookout for a photo op, Jackie found an interesting pile of scat and a dried-out calf carcass...with the scent almost burnt off by the dry air and hot sun.

Not what one would call "Speedy" but it's progress in a down-home, Texas drawl sort of way....Just the way I like it, where forward motion is measured in smiles and satisfaction.  We were here last Jan for the near-groundbreaking of the Civic Center of Sanderson, TX, and now 12 months past and this lovely in-theme building is almost ready to be the new bright spot of town.  I think by the time we pass this way again the lights will be on.

A beacon on the hill and new stone-lined storm runoff drains.  This is a place a fellow could get used to.
