ROCKS, LARGE AND SMALL

We choose the twisty, some times way to narrow, road to Van Horn, TX.  When two large vehicles met on State Route 166 each had to grab the dirt and dried grass shoulder or chance losing a mirror.  The benefit was spectacular scenery and very light traffic.  Thankfully we took no direct hits and the rig remained unbruised.
Heavenly views

Mountains of rounded rocks

Jackie jogging on a vertical rise.

Two Brewers Blackbirds and a Brown Headed Cowbird.  Almost seems like a bit of avoidance or annoyance displayed by the Blackbirds.

House Sparrow

After leaving SR166 we return to Hwy 90 and found the "Rock Place."  Jackie's insatiable thirst for all-things-rock brought us back to this way out of the way, outdoor rock shop.  Never mind that last year, same place, a dog had taken a chunk out of her leg.   The lady here in the picture is the keeper of the rocks and minder of the mutts.  Without her authority-stick, I fear the same fate would have befallen Jackie again this year.
