AMAZING

From our camper window yesterday evening.

Looking east this morning, just before the sunrise.

We made it out of Laughlin with our slide intact and snuggled tightly in its proper position…Thank you.

From the Colorado River Valley, elevation of 500 ft, we’ve climbed 3,000 ft into the high desert 20 miles south of Boulder Dam and camped on Bureau of Land Management land a few miles north of an old mining town of Nelson, NV.

“Quiet and rugged,” is about all to be said for this camp. Too rough for easy walking and biking would be out of the question.

The views of distant snow capped mountains are beautiful and we are high enough, and the air is clear enough, to see the lights of south Las Vegas at night.

Uploading these pictures has been, at least, an hours worth of wait. Should you not see pictures, you’ll know it didn’t quite complete. Still, it is amazing that one is able to stay computer-connected (usually) as far away from city or town life as we are this morning. Well, it’s amazing for this old duck anyway…..But….I remember when touch-tone telephone dialing (after rotary) was introduced, and *that* was amazing.
