AND AWAY WE GO

The north side of Albuquerque at the SANDIA CASINO where Jackie scooped-up $75 in winnings.  This place is beautiful, large and immaculately clean.  How this city of a half million can support 8 casinos baffles me...But I guess it does.

Our accommodations in the SANDIA parking lot.

Finally leaving Albuquerque and soon to be on the Old Route 66 heading east.

Before we could officially get on the road and begin the 2011 Iron County Cancer Unit Survivors Ride we had to find another/different bike rack to accommodate Earl's bike.  The rack we had just wouldn't fit three bikes.  REI here we come.  We had been back, forth, up, down and around Albuquerque (Love the traffic) so many times we no longer had to consult our Garmin map system...well almost.

We picked up Earl Norman from his motel, his 85th birthday will be in July (My riding partner of 12 years) and began the ride.  Here we are in Tijeras, NM, 6,370 ft of elevation.  I hope Earl stays warm in his tent.  Yep, Earl loves his tent and wouldn't have it any other way.
