WEST TUCSON MOUNTAINS

Another day west of Tucson, AZ.  We biked around the gentle mountains for a few hours stopping at the Old Tucson Studios, Arizona's small scale, western theme Disney world.  We cruised the parking lot and quickly departed, riding on to the natural world of the Tucson Mountain Range. The roads here are narrow and nestle into the mountainous cactus country like they belong.  A beautiful ride on an even more beautiful day.
Young Saguaro Cactus 30-40 years old.

Two new birds.  The photo quality lacks for any sort of awards...but I have my         excuses.  Two more for my list anyway.

Many varieties of cactus here in the mountains and they are healthy from the winter rains
Chain Cholla

Fishhook Cactus

Purple Staghorn Cholla Cactus

The Standing People have much to tell, if you listen.

Volunteers making sure everything is orderly.

Wonderful area, I think we'll be stopping by here again someday.
